This website was created to publicise our fund raising for Marie Curie Cancer Care via our climb of Kilimanjaro in September 2010. We completed the climb on 30th September, and you can now read about our team and individual experiences along with a gallery of photos and slideshows. Thanks go to everyone for your invaluable support, it was such an incredible thing to do.
At the summit, 30th September 2010 We each had our own very personal reasons for choosing this vital charity to support and for taking on this epic climb. You can read more about our individual reasons here. Secondly, well, it just seemed a great thing to do regardless of the fund raising!

When we first spoke about walking to the top of Kilimanjaro, it all seemed too much of a fantasy. Looking back now, that feeling hasn't changed, it was fantastic but we have to admit that not all of it was enjoyable!
So who are we? We are 5 friends who live near each other in west Kent. We all enjoy walking and the idea was hatched to do something a bit special, whilst also raising funds for charity.
The fund raising was hard work, and we organised many events in and around Plaxtol, Yalding and Wrotham, where we all live. We received so much support from friends and family, and even many people we didn't know before. We were delighted to receive photos and a report from a lady who climbed Kilimanjaro in June 2010, Susan Siracusa. Sue didn't follow exactly the same route up as us, and her story is very interesting which gave us a little bit of an insight of what was in store for us. Please read her story here, and thanks Sue for sending us your story, along with a few useful tips!
So, please browse our site and see many of the photos we took during the climb, and also read what we all thought of it, during and after the walk.
